Sarah Does Copywriting

Aside from my work in digital marketing, I also heavily focus on copywriting. Currently I work on product names, product descriptions, webpages, brochures, presentations, social media content, emails, and proofreading. I have always been passionate about writing, and in the past I wrote blog articles, curated copy for trainings, and focused on the English language in my studies.

Product Names.

I’ve named some of our newest products at CalerieLife like Evity, SolTrio, and TerraVie.
Naming these products requires that I create a name that represents or is symbolic of the product and its abilities - for example TerraVie is a plant-based protein powder that supports every day energy and health. Terra refers to earth or plant matter, while Vie represents “life”.

When naming products, I also need to ensure that each product name is compliant in our foreign markets, such as Mexico, Canada, Malaysia, and China. Recently I contributed to a large-scale renaming of some of our older products to ensure that their names were complaint in our foreign markets while still keeping a similar name to the previous, non-compliant one.

Product Description.

To write a product description, I am provided with a general function/objective for the product and a scientific report that highlights the product’s ingredients. The product description includes 4 product claims, a short description of the product, and instructions for how to take the product.

I have written product descriptions for many new products, and I recently re-wrote the product descriptions for all of our pre-existing products to ensure that they were compliant in the US market and to make them intriguing and informative, but short and sweet.

Product Webpage.

On the webpage, I’ll provide more information on the product and expand on what customers might know about it from the product description. I’ll establish highlighted ingredients, include taglines, expand on the benefits, and let customers know why they should use the product. I’ll also include influencer collaborations and reviews for customers to see other people using the product.

Product Brochure.

This content is similar to the webpage, but it provides more thorough information about the product. To create brochures, I need to have a strong understanding of the product, its ingredients, and compliant language for brochure copy. Instead of providing a printed brochure to customers when they purchase a product, they are provided with a QR code that allows them to access the brochure digitally.
